Thirty is a portrait of people born in 1982 in Belgium. All photographed in their own habitat. The work is made with a Mamiya camera on film. This, to escape the quick digitale photography and to hold on to the proportions and colour depth of large format negatives. Cause of working with daylight and using a tripod siska vandecasteele created her own time. Every image is accompanied with a landscape, a meaningfull place of the photographed person.
Dertig is een portret van mensen geboren in 1982. Allen fotografeerd in hun eigen omgeving. Het werk is gemaakt met een middenformaat Mamiya camera op film. Dit om aan het vluchtige van de digitale fotografie te ontsnappen en de verhouding en kleurdiepte van het middenformaat negatief te behouden. Door met daglicht te werken op statief creëerde de fotografe haar eigen tijd om de portretten te maken. Bij elk portret hoort een landschap dat voor hen een betekenisvolle plek is in België.
